My mom is 79 and is dealing with poor health, memory loss, financial struggles, and the recent move to an assisted living facility.
Over the recent months and years, my brothers and I have dealt with countless medical appointments, pre-planning a funeral, buying final expense insurance, legally protecting the few assets she has, helping her deal with the terrible disease known as dementia, and learning and navigating the amazingly complicated process of Medicare, social security and other insurances to get her accepted into long-term care.
It's been really, really hard, emotional, and challenging to say the least.
